What's the difference between finish carpentry and rough carpentry?
Rough carpentry is the structural framing, the bones of the house. Finish carpentry is everything you actually see and touch afterward: trim, molding, built-ins, staircases, cabinetry. It's a different skill set built around tight tolerances and a finished, paint- or stain-ready result.
Can you match trim in an older home?
Yes. Matching existing profiles is one of the most common requests we get, whether it's baseboard, crown, or door casing in a home with an older or discontinued trim style. We can match or closely replicate most profiles so new work blends in instead of looking bolted on.
How long does a project like built-ins or crown molding take?
It depends heavily on scope. A single room of crown molding might take a few days; a full built-in wall unit or a whole-house trim package can run a few weeks. We'll give you a specific timeline once we've scoped the job.
Do you do finish carpentry in new construction, or only existing homes?
